I read a book recently---The Blind Side. It's a book with extraordinary true story written by Michael Lewis. It's the biography of a homeless African American teenager, Michael Oher.

Michael Oher is one of the children by a mother who is addicted to drug. This thirteen-year-old teenager does not know about his father ,his birthday, even his real name. He was homeless and illegible before a rich, white family plucks him from the street in winter. Later, Leigh Anne Tuohy, with her family, decided to adopt Michael as a part of the family. That's the first time Michael ever sleeps on a bed, and feels the love of the family. Leigh Anne treats Michael as her own son. She bought him new clothes, read him stories, even hired a tutor to help Michael with his schoolwork.

Michael wasn't accepted in school at first. Most teachers and students thought Michael didn't know anything. He was not allowed to attend the school as a tenth grader. However, there is one teacher that sought Michael's potential of learning. She taught him patiently. She was the only one who doesn't give up on him. Fortunatly, with the help of the teacher, Michael was getting better and better on his grades.

Living with a sport family, Michael is encouraged to join the football team. He plays well as an offensive lineman due to his 98% ranking in "protective instincts". For college, he decided to attend Ole Miss because it's where his family goes to school. After graduation of college, he becomes one of players of the National Football League.

It's a really good and meaningful book. The kindness of The Tuohy Family, changed the life of a teenager. They proved that blacks and whites are equal, and the segregation in the history can be fixed. Leigh Anne once said to her friends "I'm not changing him, he's the one changing me!" Leigh Anne being sympathetic and so kindhearted that she really treats Michael as one of the family members. The story of Michael Oher and The Thohy's is very touching and inspirational.
